Meet our Pastry Chef: Ashley Harger
Ashley began her career with a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration from Grand Valley State University before moving to Chicago to attend pastry school
at Kendall College. She started working at Blue Plate Catering in February 2011 as a pastry cook and worked her way up to become the Pastry Chef in August 2014.
Though she is known most for her decorated cookies and cakes, she has a strong passion for incorporating her artistic background by creating flavorful and beautiful plated desserts with an emphasis on color and design.
Ashley has attended numerous ICA conferences where she has competed in a Rapid Recipe Challenge, presented numerous demonstrations and won a CATIE award for Best Dessert in 2015 and placed in the finals for 2017 and 2019.
After over 9 years in Chicago, Ashley decided it was time to move back to her home state and try out her desserts in the Ann Arbor restaurant world.
